RACE REGISTRATION FOR 2010/11
A CLUB FOR SKIERS AND SKI RACERS
RACE TEAM
The five ski clubs that comprise the Singles League compete against each other in the north Lake Tahoe area during the winter months for individual and club awards. There are numerous classes so the individual racers compete with others of the same ability, sex, and age bracket. There are slalom and giant slalom races for both skiers and snowboarders. At the end of the regular race season, Singles League has the annual "Racey Affair", with dinner and dancing, on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe to hand out the awards.
Many of our racers compete in two championship weekends, the Norcal Championships, that includes Open League and Sierra League, and then the Far West Championships, held this year at Northstar, and Mammoth for the 2009/10 ski season, racing against all the Far West member leagues.
We strongly encourage all members to participate in ski racing. Many of our members have extensive ski racing experience and training, and will be more than willing to help you get started.
There are three race courses for a regular Singles League race. One course will be for S0-S4, one for S5-S7, the other course will be for S8-S10. Each course will have two runs. On the first course, your time will be a combined total for the two runs, and both runs must be completed to get a time. For the second course and third course, your best time on either run will be your time, and you only need to run and complete the course once (either the first or second run). Stated another way, either the first or second run is optional for S5-S7 and S8-S10.
