Details:

We skied Northstar on Friday so lines were short (this place can be overcrowded on weekends!). Snow conditions still great from the big storm a few days earlier, packed powder and thick powder in ungroomed spots. Took the free lesson in the afternoon & the instructor asked if we wanted to check out the new runs on Lookout-- they had just opened that afternoon and the instructor had not been there yet himself! So we went over and checked it out--there were 2 fun groomed steep runs which I would say were "Squaw-caliber-black diamonds". The 2 ungroomed Lookout runs looked at little thin so we didn't go there, but they looked challenging. It was quite amusing having our instructor not know what was ahead!
