There are many ski clubs in the Bay Area, most of which are members of the Bay Area Council (BAC). The BAC clubs are organized into two leagues; the singles league which consists of seven clubs whose membership comprises single adults, and the open league consisting of another 26 clubs which generally extend membership to singles, couples and families.
Ski clubs typically offer members access to local and out-of-state ski trips, discount lift tickets, and discounts at local ski shops, as well as the opportunity to meet many like-minded skiers. Many clubs organize a year round schedule of sporting and social events. Both singles league and open league organize recreational ski racing for club members, aimed at all levels of skiers from beginners to elite racers.
